Doosan Infracore Launches Industry-first Augmented Reality at IMTS 2014

Doosan arrived in Chicago for the International Manufacturing Technology Show last week with a wide range of innovations including; , several new CNC machine tool models, integrated automation solutions, and the launch of the industry’s first augmented reality experience.

To support the launch of its latest lineup of machine tools, several iPads were placed around a display in the center of the exhibit. Guests and curious attendees were invited to view the augmented reality table to unlock scaled 3D models of their latest CNC machine tools, which could be explored in detail, reviewing specs, machine functionality, and more.

“Doosan has a strong tradition of innovation and industry leadership,” says David Barber, General Manager of Marketing at Doosan.  “To bring in every machine we offer would require a space as large as this entire trade floor. Through this augmented reality experience, we’re able to highlight some product that not here, as well as provide a closer look at a few of the new machines we’re highlighting at IMTS 2014.”

The application is just one part of the organizations greater push towards mobile integration across sales, marketing, and distribution.

“Our industry changes quickly and this technology allows us to seamlessly push out these changes across all channels.” says Peter Jung, Digital Marketing Deputy General Manager. “Working with Current to bring this to life has been an amazing experience. We’re very pleased with how our guests and marketing channels have responded. It fuels our momentum in the space. There are big things to come.”
